Bring back personal experiences

During the holidays, I noticed how many people do most of their shopping online now.  It's not suprising.  Shopping online is so easy and convenient and we are all so busy nowadays.  I miss the personal experience of shopping whether I am shopping for me or for someone else.  The times that I do go to a store to shop, it is usually at a box store rather than a department store.  You are just another face that they want to hurriedly get checked out.  Well, maybe it is time for a change! 

Have you thought about having a shopping party at your house?!  Think about it... You have one person totally thinking about you and your interest.  Not only do you get to shop but you get to shop with your best girls - whether family or friends.  And how about the awesome discounts that you don't even need coupons for?!  Your friends spend money and you get rewarded because you are the one that invited them to your house.  And check this out... Resolutions Vs. Goals

Resolutions are the goals that you make at the beginning of the year only so you can forget about them by Valentine's Day.  Goals are always being set, adjusted, visited and ACHIEVED!  Goals help us to stay focused.  You have to make your goals bite size so you don't get overwhelmed at the task at hand.  I have been working on my goals - personal, business, financial, etc. for both long term and short term.  I don't make resolutions but I do revisit my goals every year.  And unlike resolutions, when you fall short of meeting a goal, you don't give up - you just move the bar and continue on to reach your goal.

My goals have given me a bit of a fit this year.  I have been trying not to get discouraged about goals that were not met during the previous year.  This is a new year with a clean slate.  Some of my goals have just been given a new date of accomplishment.

My business goals include me securing my Director title by April 1st.  I want to attend National Conference in July.  I would like to be able to take my family to Disney World (yep, this is a business goal!)

I also have personal goals.  These are always hard to put into words because it is hard to make them measurable.  I want to be a more encouraging mom.  I want to be a more supportive wife.  I want to improve my relationship with both my kids and my husband. 

And as always my financial goal is financial freedom!  Which can also be acquired with my business goals.  So, in order to relieve financial stress which will help me accomplish my personal goals, I will need to make sure that I focus on my business goals.

Many things happen at the end of the year and the beginning of the next year.  I start gathering information for my taxes.  I create a new budget for the new year.  And I start setting goals for my personal life and for my business.  As for the budget - how many of you had to charge some presents for Christmas or even put off paying a bill to buy a present?

Diet?! Not me!

Winter Blahs

Have you been effected by the snow?  We actually lucked out on the last system that went through that put most of the east coast at a stand still.  Are you already starting to feel the letdown of holidays?  We ride on a holiday high from Thanksgiving until the end of the year.  We end up starting to feel like walking zombies.

Okay... next question... are you ready to kick the winter blahs?!  How about a party?!  But you say you are partied out?  How about a party where I do the entertaining for you while you earn great stuff?!!  It's that easy.  You invite some friends over (maybe provide some drinks and light snacks) and I do the entertaining.  We can pick a theme to liven up the party.  Winter is the best time to pick a theme such as a luau... or let's see how many people will wear flip flops!  We can bring summer to us.

And if it snows?  No big deal... we can reschedule or we can have a virtual party.  Everything is online now (but of course that won't be quite as fun).
